Silver Clouds, released on December 1, 2015 is the debut original album from The Jim Howell Band. This full-length recording resides somewhere between the Honky-Tonk classics of Nashville, the Outlaw ‘70’s movement and the current singer songwriter influx of Texas Country and Americana that is teeming the country music underground of today. For the live shows the versatile multi-instrumentalist performer and singer/songwriter, Jim Howell, ably drives the band on guitar, harmonica and lead vocals. Jim is known as an award winning sideman on drums, and other instruments, for many local, regional , national and international touring acts including REY, The Mission Creeps, The Wyatts, Rich Hopkins & Luminarios, and Truck.

In this excursion, he fuels his own brand of Arizona & Texas flavored country with the power of soul and the gears of rock. While steeped in the arid desert sounds of his native Tucson, the band’s sound road-trips to the humid sounds of Memphis, Motown, Nashville, Bakersfield, New Orleans, and Austin. The Jim Howell Band is also anchored by guitar wizard Loren Dircks (Gila Bend) and regularly includes drummer Sean McCann and Mike Santander on bass. Occasional live guests include Michael P. Nordberg (Keys/Guitar/Bass/Drums), Jeremy Michael Cashman (Lap Steel/Guitar), Tim Gallagher (Pedal Steel/Guitar), and Bill Elm on (Lap Steel/Keys).

The follow-up studio effort is underway, in the mastering phase. La Cienega, a tightly knit six-pack (EP) of tunes, will be released in early 2017. Jim will be doing some out of town shows both solo and with the band in support of this sophomore release. Keep your eyes on the road for a performance near you in 2017!
